Trams in Berlin

Berlin has a large standard-gauge tramway mostly on the East side of the city. Two of the most interesting lines however are right on the outskirts at Rudesdorf and Woltersdorf and have their own sections.

The 1100mm gauge tramway in Bremen began in 1879 as a horse tramway and was electrified in 1897.

Dresden has a large tram system built to the unusual gauge of 1450mm (just over 4' 9") plus a vintage tram inside a restaurant.

with many old 1987 Tatra trams still running but a tour on a vintage 1936 tram to boot. It was a Sunday so not too many out on the streets today.

Halberstadt's tram system

A small two-route metre gauge system using just 5 sets. The routes alternate from the station, a tram coming in from route 1 leaves as route 2.

Trams in Hannover City

A large standard-gauge system with 12 lines, first opened in 1872 and electrified in 1893, a lot of the old surface network now runs in tunnels.

Hannover Tram Museum, Sehnde-Wehmingen

This very large tram museum is on the site of Hohenfels potash mine and an ammunition works in Wehmingen, South East of Hannover.
